A Production In The Making With:

Stephen Connor &
Eddie Capli

The film was created by Eddie Capli and Stephen Connor who met as actors in the late 90’s and first collaborated on the successful play “The Call” for The Greater Manchester Fringe Festival. It started out as a short play about a man dealing with addiction and mental health issues but with a constant rise in suicide rates amongst men and people within their own lives the focus moved and we thought a short film would be more impactful to tackle such a delicate issue.

Walking in Another Man’s Shoes: A Film That Speaks Volumes About Men’s Mental Health

At Another Man’s Shoes, storytelling isn’t just a creative outlet it’s a form of advocacy. Their powerful short film about mental health and suicide among young men is more than just cinema; it’s a conversation starter, a mirror, and a lifeline. The film bravely explores the quiet battles many men face, bringing visibility to an issue that too often remains unseen and unheard.

In a world where vulnerability is still too often mistaken for weakness, Another Man’s Shoes is helping change the narrative and we’re proud to say they’re also shining a spotlight on one of the UK’s most impactful mental health charities: Andy’s Man Club.

Why This Matters

Suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 50 in the UK. Behind every statistic is a story that could have ended differently if only the right support was there. That’s where Andy’s Man Club steps in. With over 240 free peer-led talking groups across the UK, AMC offers a safe space for men to talk openly without judgement, stigma, or cost.

The film by Another Man’s Shoes echoes these values showing that speaking up and seeking connection can make the difference between crisis and hope. By raising awareness through authentic storytelling, the filmmakers are helping to normalise conversations about mental health and spotlight the importance of community support.

A Shared Mission: It’s OK to Talk

What Another Man’s Shoes and Andy’s Man Club have in common is simple but powerful: the belief that “It’s OK to talk.”

Whether it’s through a Monday night peer group or a short film that stirs hearts and minds, the message is the same: no one should have to suffer in silence. By promoting AMC at screenings, on social media, and through their website, Another Man’s Shoes isn’t just telling a story — they’re helping direct people toward real, practical help.

Final Thoughts

In supporting Andy’s Man Club, Another Man’s Shoes is doing more than raising awareness  they’re helping save lives. It’s art with a purpose, storytelling with a soul, and a shining example of what happens when creativity meets compassion.

Because behind every man struggling in silence, there’s a need for hope. And behind that hope, there’s community.
